Women make 32 percent less than men;
Racialized women make 40 percent less than white men born in Canada;
For Indigenous women, the gap is 45 percent;
For immigrant women, it’s 55 percent; and
For women with a disability, it’s 56 percent.

17 new members at Comox Valley Toyota join the IAM

04 March, 2021 For immediate release Comox, BC – The IAM is rapidly becoming the preferred home of workers at auto dealerships in British Columbia, especially on Vancouver Island. 17 more workers at a local auto dealership voted overwhelmingly to join. As the crisis that ensued from the pandemic continues, there’s another one that’s raging- unavailability of paid sick days. Workers, unions, advocates, small business owners, and health experts are all united in their calls on provincial governments to act responsibly and finally take all precautions to protect public health; implement paid sick days.
