Corner Brook, NFLD – Members of IAM Local Lodge 1567 overwhelmingly vote in favour of a new collective agreement with Corner Brook Pulp and Paper, Kruger Industrial.
“Although it was a tough set of negotiations,” we fought hard and made many meaningful gains for our members. The members had our back, and we appreciated their patience as we worked to get a deal. The vote clearly reflects this,” said Colin George, President of IAM Local Lodge 1567.
Highlights of the agreement include over 20 percent in wage increases over the life of the contract, increases to evening and night shift premiums, significant enhancements to vision, dental and long-term disability, more vacation after two years, double time OT for Sundays after 4 hours worked on a scheduled day off.
The union and the employer had been bargaining since April.
The 37 members consist of millwrights, welders, motor mechanics and Machinists.
