Gander, NL – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 544 has ratified a new collective agreement with Hickman Motors by a margin of 87.5 per cent.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 6 per cent in the first year, 6 per cent in the second year and 5 per cent in the third year. The agreement also provides for an increase in the employees shop clothing allowance.
The 16 members consist of mechanics, technicians and parts department personnel. The IAMAW also represents mechanics, technicians and parts department personnel at Jim Penny Ford in Gander and City Motors in Corner Brook.
IAMAW, among the largest industrial trade unions in North America, represents more than 700,000 active and retired members, and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
