Clarenville, NL – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 544 have ratified a new collective agreement with Hickman Motors by a margin of 75 per cent.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 6 per cent in the first year, 6 per cent in the second year and 5 per cent in the third year. The agreement also provides for an increase in the employees tool allowance from $250.00 to $350.00 annually.
The 13 members consist of mechanics, technicians and parts department personnel. The IAMAW also represents mechanics, technicians, parts department and sales personnel at nine other auto dealers in Gander, Corner Brook, and Grand Falls, Newfoundland.
IAMAW, among the largest industrial trade unions in North America, represents more than 700,000 active and retired members, and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
