Toronto, ON – United Airlines Customer Service Agents at Pearson International Airport, members of the IAMAW, have ratified their first collective agreement.
The forty members of IAMAW Local Lodge 2323, formerly of Continental Airlines, joined the Machinists in October 2010 after Continental and United Airlines merged.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 2.5 per cent retroactive to July 1, 2011, 2.5 per cent upon ratification March 15, 2012, and 2.5 per cent on January 1, 2013.
The former Continental Customer Service Agents will gain wage parity with their United counterparts in Vancouver and Calgary on March 31, 2012. Other agreement highlights include :
• Profit sharing for 2011 and 2012
• August Civic Holiday
• Extra week of vacation after 35 years of service
• RRSP Plan including company contribution match of up to 3 per cent subject to joining defined benefit pension plan later this year.
The IAMAW also represents United Customer Service Agents in Vancouver, British Columbia and Calgary Alberta. The Machinists recently organized more than 17,000 United Airlines Customer Service Agents in the United States.
