Vancouver, B.C. – The newest members of IAM Local Lodge 16 have ratified their first collective agreement with Vancouver Airport Terminal Services (ATS).
The two-year agreement provides a wage increase of 2 per cent in each year. Other agreement highlights include :
• A signing bonus of between $200 to $750 depending upon years of service
• A shift bidding procedure based on seniority
• Improved overtime call-out procedures
The 100 new members provide two services at Vancouver International Airport. Passenger Service Agents provide passenger check-in services for US Airways, Continental Airlines, Lufthansa, Condour, Edelweiss, Cathay Pacific, Delta Airlines and American Airlines. Special Service Agents provide wheelchair service for passengers using the aforementioned airlines.
The IAM is the largest union in the Canadian Air Transport Sector presenting more than 18,000 workers.
