Vancouver, BC – Members of IAM Local Lodge 692 have ratified a new collective agreement with The Cat Rental Store, a division of Raydon Rentals.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 3.5 per cent in the first year, 3.25 per cent in the second year and 3.75 per cent in the third year.
Other agreement highlights include :
• All employees who were hired at the time of ratification will receive a $2,000.00 signing bonus and all wages for all hours retroactive to July 1, 2013
• $2.81/hour wage increase for northern drivers with a class 3 license with air
• $2.47/hour wage increase for the in-town drivers with a class 3 license with air
• Prince George and Terrace employees were added to the Northern Allowance which is a 10 per cent increase before the percentage wage increase
• Boot allowance increased to $300.00 from $195.00
• In addition to boot allowance, another $300.00 for employees requiring insulated boots
• Tool allowance reimbursement increased to $750.00
• New paid sick time of 32 hours for all employees
• New banked-time language allowing employees to bank up to 80 hours
• Overtime meals for employees working over two hours now $25.00
• Call out minimum from two hours to three hours paid
• Double time for all hours over 11 hours in a day or 48 hours in a week
• Vacation improvements for long-term employees
• Addition of family day in the CBA with statutory holidays
• Compassionate/Bereavement Leave increased to five days from three
• Right to recall increased from 6 months to 12
• New language for molded ear plugs increased to $200.00 per year
The 75 members consist of heavy duty mechanics, gas and light duty mechanics, parts personnel and parts coordinators. The Cat Rental Store provides a full line of midsize and smaller Caterpillar machinery as well as aerial work platforms, pumps, generators, air compressors, heaters, shoring, hand tools and instrumentation equipment. The IAM represents workers at 11 Cat Rental Store locations in British Columbia including Surrey, Langley, Fort St. John, Kamloops, Terrace, Kelowna, North Vancouver, Coquitlam, Dawson Creek, Prince George and Fort Nelson.
