Brampton, ON – Members of IAM Hotel and Healthcare Local Lodge 1295 have ratified a new collective agreement with Courtyard Marriott in Brampton.
The four-year agreement provides wage increases 3 per cent in the first year, 2.5 per cent in the second, third and fourth years respectively. Other agreement highlights include :
- Increased holidays for part time workers
- Introduction of three paid sick days
- Improved contract language
“Special thanks goes to Chief Steward Maritza Juarez, who was the driving force behind these gains during negotiations,” said IAM District Lodge 78 Business Representative Kim Valliere.
The 29 members perform housekeeping and maintenance duties. The IAM represents hospitality workers in Toronto, Brampton, London, Hamilton, Oakville and Ottawa.
