A tentative agreement has been reached with Aerotek Manufacturing Ltd. in Whitby and ratified with 100% membership approval. The agreement represents a significant milestone for the IAM Union members who provide essential metal coating services for critical industries in Canada and globally, including military, nuclear, and aerospace sectors.
The new contract, which spans four years, includes several key improvements for the workers at Aerotek. Highlights of the agreement include:
- Substantial wage increases throughout the term of the contract.
- Enhanced health care coverage for workers and their families.
- An increase in leader premiums
- A new classification for skilled workers, recognizing their expertise and contributions.
- A Consumer Price Index (CPI) clause for Year 4, allowing wages to adjust based on the CPI, ensuring they remain competitive.
- Additional financial improvements that provide long-term security for the members.
The bargaining team included Chief Steward Alfonso Pineda and Dave Jepma, a 40-year IAM member and Aerotek employee. Their dedication and expertise played a crucial role in achieving this agreement.
This agreement ensures that Aerotek’s workforce remains valued and compensated fairly, continuing to play a key role in supporting vital industries both in Canada and abroad.
