Anago Workers Sign New Deal!

London, ON – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 1775 have ratified a new collective agreement with Anago Resources Incorporated Youth Services.
The three-year agreement provides for a fiscal adjustment payment of $500.00, wage adjustments to some classifications along with an across the board wage increases throughout the duration of the contract. Other agreement highlights include :
• Implementation of the IAM Labour Management pension plan for all members
• Improvements to representation language including orientation by union stewards to new-hires on company time regarding the collective agreement
• Implementation of seniority language for the relief classifications
• Part-time staff now have some paid sick days
The fifty members consist of cooks, maintenance personnel and Direct Care workers employed at two youth detention centres. The King Street Detention Centre for Youth is an open detention and custody facility for male youth’s age 12-18 years that have been reprimanded by the Youth Criminal Justice System. The Genest Detention Centre for Youth is a secured detention and custody facility for male youth’s age 12-18 years that have been reprimanded by the Youth Criminal Justice System.
