Dorval, January 15, 2026 – Bombardier’s decision to build a new 126,000-square-foot manufacturing center in Dorval will have positive impacts for members of the Bombardier unit, IAM Union Local 712, as well as for the entire Quebec aerospace ecosystem.
“This decision will promote increased production of the Challenger program in Dorval, which will create and secure jobs for our Bombardier unit members,” says Éric Rancourt, IAM International Representative for Quebec.
The new manufacturing center, scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2027, will allow Bombardier to increase its production capacity and meet growing demand for its business aircraft.
“Increased production means job creation,” adds Éric Rancourt. “Bombardier and its suppliers will need workers and their expertise to support this production increase. This will generate economic and industrial benefits for Quebec and its aerospace industry, so we view this announcement very favorably,” concluded the IAM representative.
Local 712 represents 2,320 Bombardier workers in Quebec, including 1,180 at its Dorval plant.
