Winnipeg, MB – IAM Canadian General Vice President Dave Ritchie is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Didoshak as Special Representative, effective February 1, 2016.
He replaces Grand Lodge Representative Ian Morland who is retiring March 31, 2016.
“Tony brings a wealth of experience to the job which will serve our membership well,” said Ritchie. “His compassion for the members and his commitment to the IAM speaks volumes about who he is and what he stands for.”
Since 2004, Tony Didoshak was an IAM Transportation District 140 General Chairperson who was responsible for administration and collective bargaining for ten thousand members and eight different contracts. These included Air Canada Maintenance and Airport staff across the country, Air Canada Finance Branch, Air Canada Clerical staff, Garda Pre-board Screeners in Saskatoon, Wasaya Airlines in Thunder Bay, Servisair De-Icers, NATO Flight Training School at Moose Jaw and Cold Lake and Lockheed Martin Engine Maintenance Centre in Montreal.
Didoshak began his IAM career with Local Lodge 714 in Winnipeg, Manitoba working at Air Canada. He served as Shop Committee Chairperson from 1994 to 2004 before being elected as a General Chairperson of IAM Transportation District Lodge 140. He will be based in Winnipeg.
