Edmonton Machinists Ratify Servisair Agreement!

Edmonton, AB – Members of IAM Local Lodge 1681 have ratified a new collective agreement with Servisair Canada Incorporated. There are eight other collective agreements between the IAM and Servisair due for renewal this year across Canada.

 

“This is the first of nine agreements to be negotiated with Servisair this year and our goal is to improve the standard of living for all of our members across the country,” explained IAM District Lodge 140 General Chairperson Keith Aiken.

 

The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 2 per cent and also provides pension increases in the second and third years respectively. Other agreement highlights include :

·         Several non-monetary improvements

·         Ability to convert unused sick days into vacation days

 

 

The 120 members provide baggage handling services, passenger check-in and aircraft conversion services. The members serve Air North, US Airways, Canadian North, First Air, Air Transat, Sunwing, Canjet, DHL and the Edmonton Airport Authority. The IAM is the largest union in Canada’s air transport sector.
