HealthTrans Workers Gain in First Agreement!

Toronto, ON – Results of their first collective agreement have validated the decision by HealthTrans Workers to join the IAM.

 

“These newest members of Local Lodge 1295 are very pleased with their first collective agreement,” explained IAM District Lodge 78 Business Representative Ralph Martin.

 

The two-year agreement provides wage increases ranging from 4 to10 per cent in the first year depending upon classification. The wage increase in the second year is 2 per cent across the board. Other agreement highlights include :

·         Additional public holiday

·         Employer will now contribute 50 per cent of benefit plan costs

 

The 18 members consist of dispatchers and drivers who perform courier services for the healthcare industry in the Greater Toronto Area, delivering specimens from clinics and hospitals to Ontario Laboratory Services.
