Edmonton, AB – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 99 have ratified a new two-year collective agreement with Finning International.
“Money was actually settled relatively quickly,” said IAMAW District Lodge 14 Business Representative Kevin Clark. “It was everything else that almost consumed seven months of tough bargaining.”
The two-year agreement provided no wage increase in the first year and a 2.75 per cent wage increase in the second year. Other agreement highlights include :
• Long Term Disability increased to $5,000.00 per month
• Boot Allowance increase
• Safety Glass allowance increase
• Implementation of pay direct drug card
• Vision care increased from $200 to $250
• Paramedical per visit benefit increased to $500 per year
• Dental coverage increased from $2,000 to $3,000 per person
• Orthodontic coverage increased from $2,000 to $3,000 per person
The 1,750 members employed by Finning International in Alberta and the Northwest Territories, provide maintenance and servicing of heavy equipment used in the tar sands oil projects and natural gas industry.
IAMAW, among the largest industrial trade unions in North America, represents more than 700,000 active and retired members, and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
