Corner Brook, NL – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 544 has ratified a new four-year collective agreement with Humber Motors.
“We restructured the classification table to award mechanics that have Ford Specialties Certifications,” explained IAMAW Special Representative Rick Arsenault. “There are five specialties in all and a majority of the current mechanics had three or more specialties working toward five.”
The agreement provides wage increases 4 per cent in the first year, 2 per cent in the second year, 2 per cent in the third year and 3 per cent in the fourth year. Other agreement highlights include :
• Employers contribution to IAM Pension Fund increased by $ .15 per hour
• Increased boot allowance
• Increased meal allowance
• Improved language on training
• Creation of new premium of 2 per cent above the highest rate for working on diesel engines
