Crofton, B.C. – Members of IAM Local Lodge 456 have ratified a new collective agreement with Geo-Tech Industries Inc.
“Our members are extremely happy with this agreement and it reflects the value of their expertise,” explained IAM District Lodge 250 Business Representative John Humphrey.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 5 per cent in the first year, and 3 per cent in the second and third year respectively. Other agreement highlights include:
- Family eye care increased to $350.00 per year
- Living Out allowance increased
- First aid premiums have doubled
- Boot allowance increased
The 14 members include machinists, welders, fabricators, millwrights and painters.
Geo-Tech specializes in all types of custom fabrication and services to the Pulp and Paper, Mining, Petroleum and Chemical Industries all over the world. This includes custom fabrication of Pressure vessels, the manufacture of processing equipment, Ferrous and non-Ferrous plate work, repair and alteration of pressure vessels, manufacturing of components for pressure vessels, all types of machine work and complete sandblasting, painting, coating and spray galvanizing. Geo-Tech also specializes in field service in both Canada and the U.S. which includes erection of pressure vessels, tanks, power piping and structural steel and their repair.
