Murray-Latta Signs New Deal with Machinists!

Surrey, BC – Murray – Latta Machine Company has a new collective agreement with members of IAMAW Local Lodge 692.
“After two rejected offers and a strike mandate we finally got it done,” explained IAMAW District Lodge 250 Business Representative Paul Pelletreau. The ratification margin was 96 per cent.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 3 per cent in the first year, 2 per cent in the second year and 3 per cent in the third year. Other agreement highlights include :
• Defined work hours for day, afternoon and night shift
• Boot allowance increased to $175.00 per year
• Vehicle mileage increased to $ .52 per kilometer
• Banked overtime will increase to 160 hours
• Employees who qualify for short term disability will be reimbursed 50 per cent of the 3 day waiting period 2 times per calendar year
• The employers and employees pension contribution will increase $ .10 per hour in each year.
The 17 members build everything from luggage conveyor systems at airports to dismantling bottling plants at one location and reassembling them in a new area. Their latest achievement is the construction and installation of a fully automated 64-stall parking lot in downtown Vancouver – the first in Canada!
