Victoria, BC – Across Canada our IAM members give back to their communities in a variety of ways but Mark White takes his volunteer work up a notch – he puts his life on the line – rescuing boaters in all kinds of weather and all kinds of predicaments in the waters off Victoria, BC. He volunteers with other like-minded British Columbians for the Royal Marine Search and Rescue, in his case, RMSR Station 35, based just outside Victoria. Each year this organization answers more than 600 calls for help up and down the coast of Vancouver Island, everything from sinking boats and people falling overboard to vessels in distress, removing water hazards or simply towing a boat back to harbor.
