Vancouver BC – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 16 have ratified a new collective agreement with Servisair Ltd by a margin of 70 per cent.
“It’s a one-year deal that has a significant impact on the future of our members here during these tough economic times,” said IAMAW Grand Lodge Representative Ron Fontaine. “We were able to provide a new pension plan for these workers as well as gain job protection for the life of the agreement.”
The agreement provides a $1,000 lump sum payment for the top wage earners. Other significant agreement improvements include :
• No contracting out language for the life of the agreement
• Implementation of the IAM Pension Plan
The 175 members provide ground handling and baggage services for all international flights and charters other than Air Canada and WestJet, in and out of Vancouver International Airport.
