A new 3-year contract for Local 922 members of Inglasco unit

After 6 months of bargaining, pressure tactics and mediation, the members of Local 922, working for Inglasco Inc., ratified their new agreement on March 27.

They won a salary increase of11.6% over the duration of the 3-year contract. The new collective agreement also includes:

  • An improvement in the employer’s contribution to the Retirement Plan.
  • An increase in the premium for the evening shift.
  • An improvement in non-monetary clauses, including additional protection for full-time employees in the event of layoffs.
  • Retroactive pay on all hours worked since the end of the contract (September 2024) adjusted to the new rates.

Éric Rancourt, International Representative for the IAM and Alessandro Bernardelli, President, Directing Business Representative, for IAM District 11, worked together in these negotiations. They highlight the level of solidarity shown by the members as well as the quality of the work of their bargaining committee.

“The members were patient and supportive of their negotiating committee throughout the process,” notes Éric Rancourt. “The ‘lightning’ strike on January 21 demonstrated to the employer that they were serious, determined, and ready to go all the way to improve their working conditions, and this moved things forward at the negotiating table,” added the IAM International Representative.

For his part, Alessandro Bernardelli mentioned the excellent work of the negotiating committee composed of Kevin Drouin and David Savard. “Their calm and strength allowed us to break the deadlock we were in,” he stated. “The level of involvement, perseverance, and determination they demonstrated during these negotiations was recognized and commended by their colleagues,” concluded the President, Directing Business Representative for District 11.
