London, On – The 20 members of IAMAW Local Lodge 1295 employed by Days Inn, have ratified their first collective agreement.
The two-year agreement provides housekeeping staff with a wage increase from $9.50/hour to $10.70/hour in the first year and increasing to $10.86/hour in the second year. Maintenance staff will receive a wage increase from $10.00/hour to $10.90/hour in the first year and increasing to $11.06/hour in the second year. Other agreement highlights include :
• Overtime paid after eight hours of work
• Inclusion in the IAM Pension Plan
• Improved vacation benefits
• Establishment of a bereavement clause
The members provide housekeeping and maintenance services at the Days Inn outlet in the Forest City.
