Eight members of Hypernetics in Arnprior, Ontario, have ratified a new agreement with their employer following extensive negotiations. Despite the employer’s firm stance on securing a five-year contract, Lise McCorrston, the elected negotiator, and IAM International Representative Neil Giroux worked diligently to ensure the company agreed to the long-term commitment.
The agreement, which was unanimously approved by the members, includes several notable improvements. Key updates include enhanced bereavement leave language, the addition of an extra sick day, and the largest salary increase in the company’s history.
Over the course of the five-year contract, workers will receive a significant wage boost, amounting to a 32% increase for the majority of members.
The success of these negotiations is a direct result of the negotiation committee’s professionalism at the bargaining table and the active involvement of the members who voted in favor of the new deal.
This agreement represents a significant milestone for the workers at Hypernetics and establishes a strong foundation for future negotiations within the company.
Congratulations to everyone!
