LL 16 Securiguard Core Vancouver Airport members ratify new contract

Vancouver, BC – Local Lodge 16 members voted in favour of a new contract this week. The renewal of their contract brought some improvements, resulting in the ratification.

The three-year agreement improved wages as well as a parking and transportation allowance in lieu of parking as many members take transit. They also gained an extra week of vacation

“Ronal Ram, David Kaleta, Johnny De Silveira, Crystal Yamamoto and Ali Goljahani did some very important work towards crafting this agreement,” said Todd Haverstock, General Chairperson with IAM Transportation District 140. “The Committee did some skillful preparation via video conference and then got down to work. The membership should be grateful for their contribution.”

This was a very difficult bargaining as the employer was not very receptive to our monetary proposals.  In the survey we were able to address many top items that were identified by the membership however that was not until we took a strike vote.

The 259 members provide inside security at the Vancouver International Airport.
