Machinists Ratify New Agreement with Diamond International

Edmonton, AB – Members of IAM Local Lodge 1722 has ratified a new collective agreement with Diamond International Trucks Ltd.

The new four-year agreement provides wage increases of 4.75 per cent in the first year, 4.5 per cent in the second year, 4.25 per cent in the third year and 4.5 per cent in the fourth year. Other agreement highlights include :

·         Improved vacation entitlements

·         The addition of a sixth week of vacation after 25 years of service

·         Improved dental coverage

·         Increased Short and Long Term Disability benefits

·         Vision care including employee laser eye surgery up to $1,000.

·         Increased premium classifications

·         Improved contract language including protection for refusal to cross picket lines during a legal strike, improved Steward allotments, Grievance Response timeframes and extending leave of absences for Union Business

The 60 members consist of clerks, parts and warehouse personnel and heavy duty technicians.
