Winnipeg, MB – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 2247 employed by Medi-Van Transportation, have a new collective agreement.
The four-year agreement provides wage increases of 4 per cent in the first year and 3 per cent in the second, third and fourth year respectively. Other agreement improvements include a paid family day.
The 60 members consist of driver/attendants, who transport non-ambulatory patients between hospitals and retirement or seniors extended health care facilities in the Winnipeg area. The Medi-Van Transportation employees were the first patient transfer workers in Canada organized by the IAMAW. The Union now represents patient transfer workers at several locations in Ontario.
