Peel Cheshire Members Ratify New One-Year Collective Agreement

Members covered under the Peel Cheshire Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) have officially ratified a new one-year agreement, marking an important step forward in securing improved working conditions and benefits.

The agreement, which takes effect on April 1, 2026, and runs through March 31, 2027, was ratified by members on March 11, 2026.

This renewed contract delivers several meaningful gains for members. Among the highlights is a 3.25% wage increase, reinforcing the IAM union’s commitment to ensuring fair compensation in line with the rising cost of living.

Part-time employees will also benefit from an increase in vacation pay, recognizing their contributions and providing greater financial support during time off.

In addition, the agreement includes enhanced bereavement leave provisions, offering members more support and flexibility during difficult personal moments.

A key operational improvement comes through the Employer’s commitment to transition from a rotating schedule to fixed shifts within the next six months. This change is expected to provide greater stability, predictability, and work-life balance for members.

This agreement reflects the strength of collective bargaining and the importance of member engagement throughout the negotiation process. The ratification demonstrates strong support for the improvements achieved and sets a positive foundation for future negotiations.
