Vacation entitlements key to new deal with Inland Kenworth

Penticton, BC – Significant vacation entitlement improvements including extra vacation days were the key ingredients to a new collective agreement for members of IAM Local Lodge 692 employed at Inland Kenworth.

The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 2.25 per cent in the first year and 2.5 per cent in the second and third year respectively. “Vacation entitlements with extra vacation days sealed the deal for our members,” said IAM District Lodge 250 Business Representative Al Cyr. “The agreement was endorsed unanimously by the membership.”

Agreement highlights include:

  • Five weeks of vacation after 18 years of service
  • Five weeks of vacation after 20 years of service with one additional vacation day
  • Five weeks of vacation after 21 years of service with two additional vacation days
  • Five weeks of vacation after 23 years of service with three additional vacation days
  • Five weeks of vacation after 25 years of service with four additional vacation days
  • Ability to use banked time for sick leave after sick leave benefits have been exhausted
  • Increased boot allowance
  • Tool allowance increased from $450.00 to $650.00

The ten members consists of automotive mechanics who maintain and repair Kenworth heavy duty trucks as well as Case front end loaders and Link-Belt, Case and Tiger Cat excavators used in the construction and forestry industry.
