A 4-year contract for Airbus Atlantic Canada members

(Blainville, Friday, November 24, 2023) – Meeting this afternoon in Blainville, the 111 members of the Airbus Atlantic unit, IAMAW Local Lodge 712, voted 67.4% in favour of their employer’s offer.

This was the second offer to be presented to members, the first having been rejected by 98.8% on November 12.

“This second labour contract for the Airbus Atlantique unit puts in place fair working conditions”, explains Christian Bertrand, President of Local 712.

The 4-year contract includes a number of significant gains, including an increase in the employer’s share of group insurance, the addition of a clause limiting subcontracting, better access to overtime, changes to the salary scale and an increase in the number of paid vacations. In the end, the various benefits obtained represent a 23% increase in the value of the contract over 4 years, including 11.2% in the first year.

Member solidarity had a positive impact at the bargaining table,” says IAMAW District 11 Business Representative Eric Rancourt, who is responsible for the Airbus Atlantic unit. The degree of unity and confidence shown in their negotiating committee enabled us to establish an excellent balance of power with the employer, and I’d like to thank them for that.” Workers at Airbus Atlantic Canada manufacture the center section of Bombardier’s Global aircraft at the company’s Mirabel facility.
