First Colortech Agreement Ratified!

Brampton, ON – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 1922, employed at Colortech Incorporated are elated with their first collective agreement.
“Wages at this facility were all over the map, often with numerous pay grades for the same classification,” explained IAMAW District Lodge 78 Business Representative Derek Ferguson. “This agreement provided for a much needed wage adjustment and annual increases across all classifications in each year of the three-year term.”
“I want to make particular mention of the tireless efforts of IAMAW District Lodge 78 Business Representative Ralph Martin and Audley Gardener and Edison Cormier from the local bargaining team,” said Ferguson. “They were instrumental in achieving a tentative agreement through numerous discussions with individual members, about the various terms this contract. They were relentless in ensuring the issues relevant to their members, were heard throughout the negotiation process.”
The agreement contains significant contract language improvements to seniority, overtime provisions and grievance procedures.
The 50 members manufacture colour concentrates and additives used in the manufacturing of film, injection and blow-molding products in the Canadian plastics industry.
